- REG.EXE v1.01
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 1..Purpose
- 2..Installation
- 3..How do I access it
- 4..Pif File
- 5..About
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 1..Purpose
-
- Allows connected stations to add their details to your
- ADDRESS.TXT file
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 2..Installation
-
- Copy all files to C:\WINPACK\EXTERN
-
- Files List: REG.EXE 3,968 bytes main program
- REG.PIF 967 bytes
- REG.DOC
-
- The program will only work in the C:\WINPACK\EXTERN directory
- so if you have installed WINPACK to a different directory such
- as C:\RADIO\WINPACK then this program will not work for you .
-
- You can then amend your connect text to notify people of the
- addition of this server to your system
-
- eg. WINPACK v6.1, /HELP for help, /REG to record your details
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 3..How do I access it
-
- Just type /REG while connected to WINPACK from remote or from
- the WINPACK screen
-
- Remeber external programs require WinPack versions > 5.1
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 4..The Pif File
-
- The supplied .PIF file was set up under WIN95 and should be OK for
- anyone using WINPACK under WIN95 installed in C:\WINPACK . If you
- installed WINPACK to a directory other than C:\WINPACK you *MUST*
- setup the REG.PIF file properly
-
- In the .PIF file the command line should be:
-
- <drive> <path> REG.EXE
-
- and the working directory should be:
-
- <drive> <path> extern\
-
- where <drive> is the dirve letter of the drive that WINPACK is
- installed on and <path> is the path to the WINPACK directory so
- as an example if you installed in D:\RADIO\WINPACK youe command
- line would be D:\RADIO\WINPACK\REG.EXE and the working directory
- would be D:\RADIO\WINPACK\EXTERN\
-
- I have tried the program under WIN 3.* and it seems to run OK .
- There are sometimes problems with the report sent back to the user
- as to what details have been recorded . If you use it under 3.*
- let me know what happens and I will try to tidy it up if there are
- problems .
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- 5..About
-
- REG.EXE and is still crude and simple but seems to work .
- Anyway if it thrashes your ADDRESS.TXT or causes your cat to have
- kittens I accept no responsibility .
-
- If you have problems then let me know and I will see if I can
- solve the problem for you . One known problem is that it is not
- too worried about neat formatting of its entries in ADDRESS.TXT
-
- V1.00
- First release (or is the word escape?)
-
- v1.01
- Consolidation of REG.EXE and REG1.COM into a single program
- Removal of REG.BIN
- Minor updates to texts used
-
- v1.02
- Removed the path dependency and the server should now work with
- any WINPACK directory that it is installed to instead of just
- the C:\WINPACK directory
-
